| Thought this would be a good place to put "places to fish in", anywhere that you think is worth a visit, this may give an insight to waters that are new to people.
put on a venue, and add a small write up about what you think would appeal to everyone... | |

| SHEARWATER LAKE, near Warminster, wiltshire. A 35 acre lake with a dam, tree lined, with plenty of swims, some doubles and trebbles so good for a social event. The lake depths range from 2ft to 20+ft, no features as such but some over hanging trees around the margins. The lake holds a heafty stock of carp, both Mirror and Common, there's an abundance of bream, some on the large side too, there's also some tench which don't show up very often, roach, perch and maybe a few pike that escaped the nets some years ago. Prices at present are £8 a day 7am till 7pm for three rods, and £15 for 24 hours 3 rods. Biggest carp out this year is 26.8lb, and there is some 30's. all the other species get to a good size and big catches are common bar the tench. Night fishing is allowed from the roadside bank only at the moment. An excellent water for the pleasure angler and carper alike, and good access for the disabled, so a good all round venue. PS, don't forget you're EA rod licence/s as they get checked here regularly. | |
