just a reminder to all of you out there , the pike may look a fearsome critter but it is as delicate as any other fish and will not survive if treated roughly,
if you are thinking about pike fishing for the first time and are a little apprehensive about the pikes reputation and those teeth then all i can say is this,dont be afraid,go out for a few days fishing with an experienced pike angler and learn how to fish for them properly,learn how to handle them and unhook them,
you will then be able to fish for them with confidence

A very good point Paul......Pike are very delicate fish and need to be handled with great care. I went out with an experienced pike angler for a few times before I even attempt to unhook one myself for the first time.

Your're right there paul, even netting them can damage them, their fins are pretty vulnerable and break at the joints very easily, so being careful when netting is a must.

good information here paul, as like you said people think they are hard... just by looking at them.
